Genre Passports

Celebrate the many types of books available with the genre passport!

Over the course of the 2022-2023 year, track your reading of fiction books across the genres. Take yourself out of your reading comfort zone and try something different!

At the end of each advisory, the library will host a celebration for the students who are working through their genre passports. Here are the goals:

  • Read books from three different genres by October 11 for our first celebration!
  • Read books from five different genres by December 21 for our second celebration!
  • Read books from seven different genres by March 13 for our third celebration!
  • Read books from ten different genres by May 19 for our final celebration!

Dates are subject to change based on adjustments to the school calendar.

As you read, have your passport checked with the librarian to have your name added to the guest list for the celebrations. Your passport should be

We have twelve different genres of books that count for the passport. If students manage to read all twelve, there will be a special reward!
